Welcome to M537 Ordinary Differential Equations. Ordinary Differential Equations or ODE's are equations that involve functions of one independent variable and their derivatives. They arise naturally when modeling many different types of phenomena in Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, and Ecomonics. Thus our goal will be to learn different analytic and geometric techniques to solve ODE's and understand the behavior of the actual phenomenon they may represent.

Specific examples from interdisciplinary areas will be covered as time allows it. Mathematical software such as MATLAB will be used to enhance basic concepts. The course is intended for senior undergraduate and first year graduate students in Applied Mathematics, Computational Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, etc.
